New Members win Trio Tournament

The Flint 700 Club held its' 14th annual Trio Tournament on Sunday, March 2nd, 2008 at Richfield Bowl in Flint, Michigan. This years tournament attracted a total of 89 teams, an increase of 11 teams from last years tournament that was held at Colonial Lanes. This years trio tournament champions were Andy Knake, Robert Cooper and Greg Kremarick with a winning score of 2252 with handicap. The team shot 2084 actual  as Andy Knake led the team with a 805 actual series that included a 279 first game. Robert Cooper shot 635 actual and Greg Kremarick contributed a 644 actual series to the teams winning score. The team benefited from 168 pins of handicap but they won the tournament by 75 pins.  The tournament's runner up team consisted of Scott Fisackerly, Mike Fisackerly and Aaron Grondin. The threesome had 2177 total with handicap, which would have won the tournament last year. The handicap for this tournament is based on 100% difference of the teams average from 635. The 2nd place team shot 2084 actual, the same as the team that won the tournament,  and the team was led by Michael Fisackerly with 760 actual and Aaron Grondin supplied a 749 series that included a 290 game to the 2nd place effort. The third place team consisted of  Todd Thorton, Aaron Craine and Justin Crosby,  they shot 2145 with handicap. Justin Crosby led the 3rd place team with a 814 actual series that included a 300 game. Rory Kalanquin led the tournament with an 825 actual series. The high individual actual game was 300 shot by Justin Crosby, Bill Bergen, and Jeff Wilson. The high woman's game of the tournament was a 256 game shot by Trina Paxton in a 662 series. The high woman's series of the day was shot by Melissa Smith with a 739 actual series. The tournament's final standings determined who the 2007-2008 Flint 700 Club Man & Woman Bowler of the Year was. The 2007-2008 700 Club James McTaggart Bowler of the Year Award winner for the men was Justin Crosby. Justin won the award with his performance in the trio tournament which included a 300 game and an 800 series by Justin. He also finished in 8th and 9th place in the State Jamboree and in 4th place in singles and 3rd place in the trio tournament. The winner of the female Bowler of the Year was Sarah Hillier, the women's standings did not change due to the trio tournament results. The Trio Tournament produced a total of (4) 800 series (Rory Kalanquin, Justin Crosby, Andy Knake and Sam Yanta Jr) and (37) 700 series. It also produced (3) 300 games, a 298 game (Daryl McGhee) and a couple of 290 games (Rory Kalanquin and Aaron Grondin). The total prize fund was over $3300 with the top 13 teams cashing in the tournament and the winning threesome bagging $607. The low score for cashing was 2085 and was worth $67. The final standings, pay-out list, and individual scores can be found in the links below.  The 2007-2008 season has been completed for the Flint 700 Club but there is still one more tournament, the National 700 Club Tournament which will be held at Galaxy Lanes in Grand Blanc in the months of May and June. Check the links on this site for more information, the final deadline to turn in entries for the National tournament is May 12th. The National Tournament is guaranteeing $4000 for first place in the team event, $2000 for first place in doubles and $1000 for first place in Singles, don't miss out.
