| The Flint 700 Club held its' 13th
annual Trio Tournament on Sunday, March 4th, 2007 at Colonial Lanes in
Flushing, Michigan. This years tournament attracted a total of 78 teams, a
decrease of 21 teams from last years tournament that was held at Town &
Country Lanes. This years trio tournament champions were Aaron Coon, Mike
Paguio and Rick Gould with a winning score of 2185 with handicap. The team shot
2173 actual as Mike Paguio led the team with a 801 actual series that
included a 289 first game. Aaron Coon started off the day with a 299 actual
game and finished with a 732 actual series and Rick Gould supplied a 640
actual series to the teams winning score. The team didn't need its' 12 pins
of handicap because they outscored all other top finishing teams with their
actual score of 2173. The tournament's runner up team consisted of
Wayne Soles, Dale Parker and Robert Wilson. The threesome had 2071 with
handicap and was helped out by 117 pins of handicap based on the 100%
difference of the teams average from 635. The 2nd place team shot 1954
actual and was led by Wayne Soles with 696 actual and Robert Wilson supplied
a 672 series to the 2nd place effort. The 2nd Place team was the
highest ranking senior team in the tournament and will receive and extra $60
in prize money for that distinction. The third place team consisted of Steve
Cooper, Tim Anderson and Randy Hewitt they shot 2053
with handicap. Steve Cooper led the 3rd place team with a 781 actual series. The 801 actual series shot by Mike Paguio was the high series of the
tournament. The high individual actual game was 299 shot by Matt Pray on the
first squad of the day and also a 299 game shot by Aaron Coon on the 2nd
squad. The high woman's game of
the tournament was a 255 game shot by Susie Fisackerly in a 670 series. The
high woman's series of the day was shot by Lorita Simon with a 686 actual
series. The tournament's final
standings determined who the 2006-2007 Flint 700 Club Man & Woman Bowler of
the Year was. The 2006-2007 700 Club James McTaggart Bowler of the Year
Award winner for the men was John Wade Jr from Saginaw. John started the
season out by teaming up with Melissa Smith from the Grand Rapids area to
finish in 9th place in the kick off tournament and Melissa ended up winning
the female bowler of the year award for the 2006-2007 season. John Wade
bowled both squads of the trio tournament and his teams finished in 5th and
tied for 7th place to help him beat out Mitch Barlow for the Bowler of the
Year Award.
The tournament produced a total of (8) 700 series and (1) 800 series. The total prize fund was over $2900
with the top 12 teams
cashing in the tournament and the winning threesome bagging $565. The low
score for cashing was 2006 and was worth $59. The final standings, pay-out list, and individual scores can
be found in the links below. The 2006-2007
season has been completed for the Flint 700 Club but there is still one
more tournament, the National 700 Club Tournament which will be held at
Galaxy Lanes in Grand Blanc in the months of May and June. Check the links
on this site for more information, the final deadline to turn in entries
for the National tournament is May 11th. The National Tournament is
guaranteeing $4000 for first place in the team event, $2000 for first place
in doubles and $1000 for first place in Singles, don't miss out.
