Jeff Wilson wins 2010 700 Club Singles Tournament with 300 Game - 791 Actual Series

Tournament Champion!

The Flint 700 Club held it's annual singles tournament at Richfield Bowl for the

2nd year in a row on Sunday, January 17th, 2010. The 

tournament attracted a total of 182 bowlers, an increase of 2 bowlers

from last years tournament. The tournament was won by Jeff Wilson who had games of

 234, 300 and 257 for 791 actual series.

Jeff ended up 13 pins in front of Walker Thornton who shot 778 actual. Lenny Gladding

who finished in 2nd place last year shot 762 and finished in 3rd place this year in the 215

and up division.

The win by Wilson was worth $149 in prize money as the prize list paid

down 10 places in the 215 and up division with a low in the money score

of 721 actual by Mike Helzer and Mark Mikels who will each receive $20. The tournament

produced 25 series of 700 or higher which was 6 less than last years tournament.

Jeff Wilson also won the Greg Haus Memorial Award for the highest

actual game of the Singles Tournament with his 300 game.

The high actual women's series of the tournament and Mary Klein

award winner went to Melissa Smith who shot 711 actual and finished 15th

in the 215 and over division. The high women's game of the tournament was shot

by Sarah Hillier with a 258 actual game in a 699 actual series.

The Granddaddy Award Winner this year was Jerry Weld who shot 727 actual to

finish in 8th place in the 215 and over division.

Other winners in the tournament included Ryan Allie who won the

179 and under division with a 584 actual series which was worth $79. In the

180 to 189 division Jim Bigmeat was the winner with a 619 actual series

which was worth $75. The 180 to 189 division paid 2 places. Also

cashing was Tom Boyd with a 618 series that was worth $50.

In the 190 to 200 division Rick Marsich was the winner with a 749 series that

was worth $129. The 190 to 200 division paid down 6 places. Others that

cashed in this division included Joe Rodriguez with a 656 actual, Jason Hogan

with a 645 actual, Wayne Soles with a 644 actual, and Shawn Grondin with a 636 actual

series. Gary Welense with a 633 was low in the money in this division and made $26.

In the 201 to 214 average division Dusty Oskey & Mike Dennis tied to win the division with a

725 actual series. They will split the first & second place money which will be worth $128 each.

Mike Monroe had 718 and Jeff Dunn Jr had 712 in this division. This division paid down 9 spots

with low in the money being 680 by Tony Seltz which was worth $21.

This tournament also was the annual election for a new 700 club officer.

Bob Snyder won the election to become the newest member of

the 700 Club board and his duties will begin with the 700 Club National

Tournament in May.

The scores from this tournament will be sent to the national 700 club

to compare scores with other 700 clubs from across the nation for 

national awards.

The next 700 Club tournament is the Senior Doubles Tournament which will 

be held at B's Bowling on Sunday February 21st, 2010, the
