700 CLUB 2007 "425" DOUBLES TOURNAMENT RESULTS |

| The Flint 700 Club
held their 5th annual "425" Doubles Tournament on Sunday, December 9th
at Colonial Lanes. The tournament attracted 105 doubles teams this year
a decrease of 4 teams compared to last years tournament that was held
at Nightingale Lanes. The winning Doubles Team was Rob Ploof and Troy Stamm with a 1468 total. Troy Stamm led the doubles team with a 279 game
and a 747 actual series. Rob Ploof supplied a 259 game in a 718 actual
series for an actual total of 1465. The doubles team received 3 pins of
handicap for the series based on their 424 entering average which made
their total winning score 1468. Ploof & Stamm are the head coaches of
the Kearsley Hornets Varsity Bowling teams. Stamm is the boys coach and
Ploof the girls coach. "It just happened to work out for us with the
averages" said Stamm. Rob was telling me he didn't have a partner
because his wife's average was too high, so I suggested we team up. The
second place team was Stephanie Roof and Shawn Spishak with a 1441 total
that included a 742 actual series from Roof, the highest series by a
woman in the tournament. Ploof/Stamm and Roof/Spishak were the only 2
doubles teams to shoot over 1400 actual in the tournament. The first
place doubles team will receive $432 total and second place will receive
$381. In all the tournament paid out $2542 in prize money. Low in the money was 15th place with a score of 1385. In all there were 22 series of 700 or better for the entire tournament. The high individual scorer of the tournament was Ray Worden III who had the high actual series of 781 and the high actual game of 300. Clyde Cooper was the individual scoring leader of the 1st squad with a 771 actual series. Chris Brady had the high game of the 1st squad with a 290 actual in a 728 series. The high women's game of the tournament was a 269 game shot by Melissa Smith. Click the links at the bottom of this article to see the entire tournament results and pay-outs. The next 700 club tournament will be held on January 20th, 2008 at Grand Blanc Lanes, this is the annual singles tournament and scores from this tournament will be sent to nationals to determine a national champion.
