Minutes from 700 Club Board Meeting:
Meeting was called to order by past Queen Pin Susan Fisackerly due to King Pin Kevin Dyer had not made it to the meeting at this time. Start of meeting was at 7:30pm at Greater Flint Bowling Association. Susan Fisackerly thanked everyone on behalf of Kevin Dyer for all their help during his tenure as King Pin. Past Queen Pin Susan Fisackerly then introduced the new King Pin Phil Venegas for the upcoming season 2011-2012.
King Pin Phil Venegas asked Pin Buoy John Loncarevic for roll call. The following board members were present: Troy Stamm, Robert Tubbs, Darrell Craw, Gil Stamm, Mike Martin, Brad Lokken, Phil Venagas, Susan Fisackerly, Kevin Dyer, Herb Green, Robert Snyder, Chris Brady, Keith Cross, Jon Roof, and John Loncarevic. (Absent) Paul Grondin & Doug Warren . Also special guest Jerry Fisackerly and Sue Thomason.
Minutes of the last meeting June 22nd, 2010 King Pin Phil Venegas asked for a motion on the minutes for the last meeting. Motion to accept minutes by Susan Fisackerly and Brad Lokken seconded the motion. The motion passed by the board.
The treasurer's report was given by Scorer, Gil Stamm. A balance of $2,825.61 remained after the following expenditures: gifts for the Singles Tournament , $50 to the 11th Frame for advertisement and bowling balls for tournaments. Shirt orders for new members and shirt reorders. Also National Membership Dues, Pin Buoy fees, Scorer Fees and mailing of the newsletter are paid for the 2010-2011 year. Brad Lokken made a motion with Troy Stamm seconding the motion to accept the treasurer's report. The motion passed by the board. Robert Tubbs at this time presented a check for $200 to Gil Stamm from the National 700 Tournament, which we gave back $1 per member for bowling in the tournament.
Report of the Pin Buoy
John Loncarevic expressed his appreciation for all the work done by the board members and past officers for the 2010-2011 tournaments. John noted that for 2010-2011 year we had 39 new members, 8 reordered shirts (red), and a total of 358 members bowled in one or more tournaments.
Report of the Tournament Director
Robert Tubbs passed out bank reconciliation on the Tournament account, and thanked everyone for their help. Interest in the tournaments has grown over the years, and this will force us to close some tournament squads in advance of the tournament date. Please mail in your entry in advance to avoid being shut out. No reservations will be accepted without a paid entry.
Old Business
Robert Tubbs presented to Brad Lokken gift from 700 Club for being an honoree of Flint City Tournament for 2010-2011 season.
New Business
Robert Tubbs said to the board that he was stepping down from local tournament director. He is not leaving but he needs to put more time in to run National 700 Tournament. Motion by Jon Roof and seconded by Gil Stamm to place Susan Fisackerly as new Tournament Director and closes nominations. Motion passed by the board.
Mike Martin made motion to pay for entry to National 700 Tournament for winning team only seconded by Robert Tubbs (board discussion) vote taken passed by board. Also team has to bowl together to get entry paid. (Kickoff - 4 man 860).
Robert Tubbs made motion to change Singles Tournament from 2 squads to 1. (board discussion) Susan Fisackerly made motion to change seconded by Brad Lokken. The motion passed by board. Also, there is a roll-off for the winners at the end of tournament and next highest scorers of tournament up to 16 bowlers more information at tournament about roll-off.
Also, request from Jon Roof that we need better lettering on application of bowlers name will put note on application to print your name clearly.
Price change of new shirt orders will be $45. Also, change to new members will move from $55 to $60. Starting with the 2011-2012 season, the biggest reason for change is that the postage is rising.
Youth Scholarship 2011 - Robert Tubbs presented Flint Area USBC Youth Scholarship in the name of Unree Johnson. Send a check to GF USBC Youth for $265 for 2012 from the General Fund. This will get us one year ahead of the end of season distribution.
Club Dues
Club dues will remain at $5.00 New Membership fees are $60.
Dress Code
700 Club shirts may be worn with pride in tournaments and leagues. Dark Blue, Black,White or Red slacks, skorts, or pants are standard for all 700 Club tournaments. Dress Codes are diligently enforced. Those in violation will be assessed a fine of $5.00 for first violation. Thereafter, members in violation the second time will not be allowed to bowl until they comply. We are one of the top 700 Clubs of America and we want to maintain the highest level and pride of our club. Exceptions are allowed for new members who have not received their shirts or persons who have ordered new shirts. Note: Our reorder for new shirts and new members will receive red shirts, our old white shirts may be worn until you reorder a new shirt. (It is your option to order a new shirt it is not mandatory you can wear the white shirts as long as you want.) New Shirt re-order fees are $45.
Fines
Fines of $1.00 for games of 270 or higher without a 700 series are assessed. (As a member it is your responsibility to give your fine to a 700 Club board member.) The fines you pay help to support our 700 Club.
Dress code Enforcers- Bob Snyder and Chris Brady for the 2011-2012 year. Job is to keep our club codes intact and collect fines.
2011/2012 Tournament and Committees
NOTE: Due to our tournament growing over the years no reservations will be accepted without a paid entry.
